View From Slovakia: EU against China? "IndyWatch Feed National"

[An article Ivan from Slovakia translated into English for Gumshoe. This was in the email: The overall political situation makes him a bit nervous; but on the other hand, the self-confidence of Russia, together with China, and an evident loss of self-confidence by the US, means the correct shift of the overall positions. The Russia/China axis looks likely to become the new main axis, with the US falling a level below. There exists a Heartland Theory (quite old) and the present moves (Russia/China/Iran/India/Iraq) seem to go along in that direction. Also, the Iran/China cooperation agreement contributes a lot to my hopes of overpowering the US warmongering]

Congress Suddenly Wants to Know If US Taxpayers Were Helping El Chapo "IndyWatch Feed National"

After flying under the radar for years, the case of Genaro Garca Luna is finally raising alarms in Congress, with one of the Senate's top Republicans demanding answers about how Mexico's highest-ranking cop was able to partner with DEA and FBI, "at the time that he funneled roughly 103,000 pounds of cocaine into the United States" for the Sinaloa Cartel. Garca Luna became the most senior Mexican law enforcement official ever convicted of narco-corruption when a Brooklyn federal jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict on a five-count indictment that charged him with taking massive bribes to enable cartel drug smuggling, kidnappings, and murders while he was in office from 2001 to 2012. Garca Luna's position involved close collaboration with U.S. anti-narcotics agencies that operate in Mexico, and it gave him discretion over the spending of hundreds of millions in American tax dollars delivered as security aid. That money was supposed to go toward fighting the cartels, but his trial showed he was leaking sensitive intelligence, protecting drug shipments, and disrupting efforts to capture ... cartel leaders. On Feb. 22, a day after the guilty verdict, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a letter to the heads of the DEA and FBI asking what the agencies knew about Garca Luna and when, and demanding evidence ... that could shed new light on the relationship. In short, Grassley wants to know if American tax dollars were being sent to Mexico while the DEA and FBI were tolerating Garca Luna's corruption.

Note: This case adds to the evidence that the War on Drugs is a trillion dollar failure. For more along these lines, see concise summaries of deeply revealing news articles on government corruption from reliable major media sources.

I dont qualify at all "IndyWatch Feed National"

Answers in Genesis is looking for a full-time high school science teacher. Im not looking for a new job, but even if I were, Im stunned by how supremely unqualified I am for this position.

The qualified individual must be an evangelical Christian committed to living a biblical lifestyle in all areas and in full agreement with the schools statement of faith. The teacher is expected to be in alignment with the science and biblical positions held at Answers in Genesis and able to teach science from a biblical worldview in the classroom. The teacher must also be able to distinguish operational vs historical science as well as be able to articulate the evolutionary beliefs correctly while being able to refute them biblically and scientifically. The teacher must also have a good understanding of AiGs presuppositional apologetic approach and know how to incorporate it in the classroom.

The teacher shall be one who feels called of God to the teaching profession. The teacher must maintain a teachable spirit while demonstrating patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing his/her day-to-day duties. He/she must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students, and parents to develop and maintain a school which is thoroughly Christian and academically exceptional. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the glory of God.

I dont meet the requirements in a single sentence of that summary. Of course, nowhere in there does it say anything about degrees or training or experience, all that matters is conformity to the peculiar notion of science held by AiG.

Oh, at the end of the long list of detailed stuff, almost every bit of it about theological purity, there is a passing mention of what I might expect for qualifications of a real teaching position.

It is expected for the teacher to:

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in related field
  • Have completed student teaching and/or other educational field experience.

It is preferred (but not necessary) for the teacher to:

  • Have two or more years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Have a current teaching certificate from a Christian school association and/or State Teaching Certificate in Education.
  • Have a...

Australia: Outsourced to the US Military Establishment "IndyWatch Feed National"

Its a very funny thing. In the US, the provision of services in such industries as security and intelligence is outsourced in a sprawling complex of contractors and subcontractors. In Australia, the entire military and security establishment is outsourced to Washingtons former mandarins, many of them earning a pile in consultancy fees. This, perhaps, is what Australias Defence Minister Richard Marles means when he talks about the Australian Defence Force moving beyond interoperability to interchangeability.

The list of recipients is depressingly long, and suggests that Australia has ceased to have any pretensions of sovereignty in defence matters. Take, for instance, the appointment of US Vice Admiral William Hilarides to the post of reviewing the future of the Royal Australian Navys surface fleet, for which he is pocketing US$4,000 a day. Since 2016, he has received US$1.3 million in contracts from the Australian government.

Hilarides featured in a story by the Washington Post last year, which revealed that two retired US admirals and three former US Navy civilian leaders were playing critical but secretive roles as paid advisers to the government of Australia during its negotiations to acquire top-secret nuclear submarine technology from the United States and Britain.

It gets worse. Six retired US admirals are identified as having offered their services to the Commonwealth since 2015. Hilarides was particularly keen, having retired a mere two months before seeking permission to advise the Australians on how best to extend the life of its Collins Class submarine fleet.

US Navy officials had few problems with the application, approving it within five days and forwarding it to the US State Department, which treated it as a mere formality. Hilarides, in his application, stated that he would be receiving money from a contract between the Australian Commonwealth and the consulting firm Burdenshaw Associates, based in Fairfax City, Virginia. The same firm has received US$6.8 million from the Australian taxpayer since 2015.

In a statement provided to the paper, the Australian Department of Defence revealed that Hilarides, another admiral Thomas Eccles, and a number of those on the Commonwealths Naval Shipbuilding Expert Advisory Panel, were furnishing Canberra with expert advice on the performance of the naval shipbuilding...

The Myth of the COVID-19 Pandemic and other lies Canadian Patriot with Denis Rancourt "IndyWatch Feed National"

denisrancourt | April 22, 2023

In this Canadian Patriot Podcast, Dr. Denis Rancourt explains his published findings and methods demonstrating the popular fallacy that a covid-19 virus had caused vast death prior to the vaccine rollouts in 2021. In fact, not a single death anywhere in the world can be provably tied to COVID-19, but rather the criminally incompetent (and likely intentionally criminal) protocols deployed from above nation states. Dr. Rancourt explains the real reasons for the increase in all-cause mortality across the world with a focus on the USA, Australia, Israel and India which occured only after the vaccine rollout began. A discussion on Faucis admission that he was wrong about masking protocols and the broader corruption in academic research over the past decades is also explored.

A NJ Pastor-politician is Gunned Down, and a Community Reels

By MARYCLAIRE DALE

SAYREVILLE, N.J. (AP) Nicole Teliano used to play games on her phone in the mayors office while her mother worked down the hall several evenings a month, tending to the tedious, often acrimonious task of serving in local government.

The 11-year-old girl didnt mind sharing her mother, Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, with the nearly 50,000 residents of the central New Jersey town, the young people she nurtured as a pastor of a prosperity gospel church in Newark or the Nigerian church colleague she married in a festive ceremony in Abuja in November.

Well, my mom was a little bit of extra, so I could share a little bit. There was enough to go around, Nicole said in a family interview with The Associated Press this month.

Now, friends and loved ones are asking for help figuring out who gunned down the charismatic 30-year-old Dwumfour outside her Sayreville home on Feb. 1. The case is reverberating from New Jersey to West Africa, with touchpoints including politics, religion and money that echo across continents.

Authorities arent saying much. Dwumfours parents and new husband Peter Ezechukwu, who hoped to join his wife in the United States this spring but instead came for her funeral, are frustrated by the ongoing silence. The Middlesex County Prosecutors Office said it recognizes their concerns but needs to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Eunice was too good of a person to let (her death) go unanswered, Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick said at a Feb. 8 memorial service, where hundreds mourned the stylish preacher known as Pastor Eunney_K.

That smile of hers, Kilpatrick said, is not going to let us give up.

2023 Statement from Marius Mason "IndyWatch Feed National"

Statement from Marius Mason on June 11th, a day of solidarity with long-time anarchist prisoners.

Dear Community, Family and Friends,

Thank you for the work you are doing to make the change we need to make into the world for our collective survival. Your dedication, support and love are a constant source of inspiration and motivation for me; and I am betting for other prisoners, as well.

This has been as eventful year and a half here at FCI Danbury. My transfer to a male facility had been viewed with great trepidation both by those supportive of trans people and by those who are adamantly opposed to our existence. Ive had many memorable experiences; some humiliating, some merely annoying and awkward. But, also several that have been rewarding and deeply affirming.

There has definitely been a sense of working things out as we gothe way strip searches have been conducted has been all over the board. Sometimes they have been done by one male staff person, sometimes by one female staff person and several times by several male staff people. Strip searches occur before and after visits, before and after medical trips out, and also when going into the SHU (I had to go there before a medical procedure to fast).

I missed one that was conducted down at the Rec when a fight between inmates was suspected. For the most part, as embarrassing as strip searches can be (they definitely trigger my dysphoria), most staff have been professional about them. There have been some unprofessional remarks made on occasion, though, that have been dehumanizing and dispiriting, but actually have happened a lot less often than I was expecting. A nice surprise.

Mostly, I have been able to navigate what negativity and attempted exploitation there has been, taking it as the cost of admission to this new circus. I am determined to make progress on my transition, and have appreciated the opportunity to keep growing in my social transition and to make all the benchmarks necessary for satisfying the requirements that the BOP has set. For the most part, I keep it moving and accent the positive and eliminate the negative.

There has been a lot of positive movement in my transition to a predominantly cis-male-identified prison. While there are about six transwomen here that I have met, and one gender fluid person, I have yet to meet anyone else who identifies as a trans man at this prison. I did know about eight transmen at Carswell, where I was placed in Texas. Being in this population, there has been a lot of opportunity to discuss trans issues with people. They ask a lot of questions, some related to trans policy and some personal to my situation. Other questions make me laugh as they are blunt and impertinent, but honest curiosity is important to helping with trans visibility and acce...

Colombia: Scientists explore remote seamounts to protect hammerhead sharks "IndyWatch Feed National"

In 1995, when Colombia protected the island of Malpelo by setting up the Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, the area had a recorded 43 species of crustaceans, six species of starfish, and 70 species of fish. These figures, the only ones available, were from 1972, when the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute led its first expedition to the island. Over time, scientists carried out more expeditions, and the number of recorded species grew. By 2016, the National Natural Parks System of Colombia had cataloged 1,500 animal species in the area. Nine of them are not found in any other part of the world and about 40 species are threatened or vulnerable, according to a parks system press release. Yet a large part of the life cycle and the ecology of some of these species remained unknown, especially for migratory species like the scalloped hammerhead shark (Sphyrna lewini), which visits the island frequently. For example, no one knew the routes by which the sharks in this population move through the sea, how deep they swim, where else they congregate, the locations of all their breeding areas, or their relationships with other populations of scalloped hammerheads. Today, after more than 20 years of work, researchers from the Malpelo and Other Marine Ecosystems Foundation, a Colombian NGO, have found answers to some of these questions. United within a strategic ecosystem Malpelo Island is Colombias westernmost point, located about 500 kilometers (310 miles) off the Pacific port city of Buenaventura. Husband duo Mister Cos infectious Make You Feel Alright is a flirty, funk-fuelled love song "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

Off the back of their entirely romantic debut single, eclectic husband duo Mister Co has asserted their presence as a powerhouse deserving of our undivided attention with their next feel-good love track.

Released on 28 April, Make You Feel Alright is the infectious second single from Mister Co.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

The joint project of two passionate musicians and producers Connor and Oscar Absolum, Mister Co debuted just last year, treating the world with the intoxicatingly romantic single Tonight.

Surpassing 45,000 streams in under two months of release, the debut single laid a firm foundation for the duos genre-blended sound and style, bringing Oscars big band and musical theatre influences together with Connors love of anthem rock, soul and pop, but its on this follow-up that Mister Cos talents as a songwriter, vocalist and producer all shine their brightest.

From start to finish of the three-minute and 44-second track, Make You Feel Alright proves an irresistibly radiant listening experience, surging with bold and bright retro, blues and soul influences.

The soulful and full-bodied harmonies set the tone, with the duos golden voices soaring sweetly over a tapestry of big drums, big horns, a groovy bass line and a memorable simple chorus melody.

Channelling the ecstasy of love and all it encompasses into a sweet, seductive sound, Make You Feel Alright is a funky and slick, strikingly stunning throwback to the cinematic funk, soul and pop of the 60s and 70s, with an irresistible breakdown and some classic sounding brass sections that feel like a fresh take on the sounds of the yesteryear. Its a groovy track that immediately gets stuck in your head and doesnt come out easily.

Mister Cos funky and flirty sophomore single was spawned in the throes of Melbournes lockdown as an attempt to lift each other up and bring each other joy.

After staring at the walls for months in lockdown we both felt incredibly deflated and down in the dumps, Mister Co explains.

Cable Ties Announce National Album Tour "IndyWatch Feed Cvic"

Cable Ties have announced a national tour in support of their forthcoming album, All Her Plans

From June until August, the punk rock outfit will visit Adelaide, Anglesea, Castlemaine,  Melbourne, Brisbane, Beechworth, Canberra, Sydney, and Port Kembla (see full dates below). The Melbourne trio have also confirmed that their friend, the wonderful and idiosyncratic Our Carlson will support them on the the tour.

To mark the tour announcement, Cable Ties have shared another single from All Her Plans. Titled Change, the powerful track takes on patriarchal violence, acting as an exasperated rallying cry for greater social change.

Change is about how to keep surviving and fighting even when it feels like were going backwards, vocalist Jenny McKechnie explains.

It contrasts the traumatisation of victim/survivors by the so-called justice system with the solidarity and hope I have found talking to mothers, friends and strangers, who have connected with the songs Ive screamed into the abyss.

McKechnies sounds supremely angry on the recording, which makes sense when she reveals the time period when Change came together. I recorded the vocal take for this song very shortly after Roe v Wade was overturned, she recalls. I was extremely fired up and dejected, but wanted to remind myself why we keep going.

Cable Ties Change is out now. All Her Plans is out Friday, June 23rd via Poison City/Merge Records.

April 25, 2023 (KHARTOUM) UN special envoy to Sudan sounded an alarm bell of the negative impact of the fighting in Khartoum on the rest of the country, citing the resumption of tribal clashes in West Darfur as one area of concern.

Volker Perthes, on Tuesday, briefed the 15-member council for the second time about the situation in Sudan after the eruption of war in Khartoum between the national army and the Rapid Support Forces on April 15.

Perthes reviewed the security situation in Sudan and said that the Darfur region is the most affected by the hostilities in Khartoum pointing to North, South and West Darfur states.

He said a ceasefire brokered by the state authorities ended tribal fighting in North Darfur, while initiatives partially stopped the fighting in some localities of South Darfur but continued in the state capital Nyala.

Perthes underscored that the fighting between the national army and the paramilitary forces which originate from Darfur resumed in El Geneina near the Chadian border on Tuesday with increased involvement of tribal components.

He went further to speak about reports of mobilization by some tribes and some armed groups stressing that this escalation could draw in Sudans neighbouring countries.

I renew my call on all communities to maintain their neutrality and refrain from taking sides, Perthes urged.

The West Darfur State witnessed recurrent clashes between the Arab and Massalit tribes during the past three years.

A senior West Darfur state government official told Sudan Tribune that The clashes in El Geneina between the army and the RSF have turned into tribal conflicts between Arab and African groups.

The fighting began on Monday when gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Sudanese Alliance Forces, led by State Governor Khamis Abdallah, attacked the command of the RSF Sector in El Genein...

It contrasts the traumatisation of victim/survivors by the so-called justice system with the solidarity and hope I have found talking to mothers, friends and strangers, who have connected with the songs Ive screamed into the abyss.

Premiere: Melbournes Georgia Ray spins heartbreak into buoyant indie pop with Hypnotherapy "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

The first thing to know about Georgia Ray is that shes just as infectiously bright and inspiring as her music. Based in Melbourne, the singer-songwriter embraces authenticity in her songs, telling her raw stories of heartbreak, loss and hope.

Bringing together a mix of indie, pop and country influences to create a new and unique sound, Ray has released a string of catchy, cathartic singles that has seen her recognised by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) as One to Watch. Now after spending the majority of the last couple of years writing songs and recording home demos, shes embarking on her most ambitious project yet, and the result is nothing but spectacular.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

An exhilarating indie pop-rock upheaval, Georgia Ray arrives today with her new release Hypnotherapy.

Released on 28 April, Hypnotherapy is Rays first release of 2023 and the direct follow-up to last years duet ballad, Picture of Us.

A burst of buoyant indie pop brimming with light and tender feeling, Hypnotherapy is a resounding triumph for Georgia Ray, seeing her move in an all-encompassing direction of upbeat, catchy pop-rock.

Laced with irresistible pop-rock hooks and infectious sounds, influences such as Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift and Paramore surge within the release with Rays big, punchy chorus and crisp electric guitars. The result is a vibrant and pop-fuelled three-minute journey that greets the ears as not just a simple song but as an enveloping and enjoyable immersive listening experience.

I listen to a lot of pop and pop-rock artists such as Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift and Pale Waves, and I love the energy their songs have and the way they can pick you up, Ray explains.

I wanted to write a song that excites me in that same kind of way, and I also really wanted this song to be poppy and upbeat to counteract the opposite nature of the lyrics. I wrote this song while living alone amid a Melbourne lockdown too, so I think I was really needing some stimulation!

Sonically, its vibrant and infectious. Yet lyrically, it is surprisingly mellow. In Hypnotherapy, Ray delves into her own experiences.

Ian Moss is a national treasure. His monumental work with Cold Chisel, partnered with his brilliantly fruitful solo career, has been embedded into Australian culture.

Still etching his name into the Australian music industry, Moss returns now with his forthcoming eighth studio album, Rivers Run Dry, and the Rivers Run Dry Tour in August through Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. The album, Rivers Run Dry, is due for release on Friday, 21 July 2023 and features 12 songs and largely recorded over ten days at Rancom St Studios in Sydney. Rivers Run Dry is a musical feast once more displaying Mossys well-documented guitar-playing genius and a voice that floats like a butterfly and yet can pack the punch of a Mallee bull. Either way, it is unforgettable.

Co-produced by Ian and Brent Clark, who also engineered the album, it was recorded with the core band of Zoe Hauptman Bass (Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins), Clayton Doley Keys (Joe Bonamassa, Jimmy Barnes) and Kerry Jacobson Drums (Dragon, Mondo Rock) with special guests Julian Moss sharing vocals on the Stevie Wonder classic Blame it On the Sun, and multiple award-winning songwriter and recording artist, Kasey Chambers, on the roots inspired Bury Me.

The song selection for Rivers Run Dry was focused on simply finding good songs, regardless of the style or genre they may have initially presented, and the result is an album that covers straight-ahead rock, Latin, funk, country, blues & unapologetic pop and yet we still ended up with an album that sounds very cohesive, Moss says.

I dont think any of us feel we have any What the fuck is that song doing on this album? moments.

Rivers Run Dry is released on Friday, 21 July 2023 through Universal Music Australia. General public tickets go on sale at 9.00am (local times) on Thursday, 4 May 2023 from here.

Due for release in August, Hey Dawn is a rich character study, with the singer-songwriter reflecting on the stories that have shaped her and those around her. Its also a more sonically diverse outing than Lumsdens previous records, incorporating elements such as guitar-based indie-pop into her trademark world of gorgeously crafted, emotionally rich acoustic songwriting.

I wanted it to feel good, I wanted to have fun, she smiles. I didnt want to think too hard about it I just wanted to feel.

Hey Dawn is, in short, Lumsdens most complete offering to date. But it took a while to get there.

Following the release of Fallow, Lumsden spent an exhausting 18 months navigating the logistical nightmare of touring in a time of COVID-related border closures and show cancellations. When combined with the residual trauma of the 2020 bushfires that nearly claimed her property in the Snowy Valleys region of New South Wales I literally drove out to Tamworth while the side of the road was still burning the desire to write music temporarily deserted her.

When it finally returned it did so on the coast of Western Australia, as Lumsden and her husband (and bandmate) Dan Freeman navi...
